The purpose of this qualitative case study is to examine what kind of experience mother and child had in mother-child art therapy and what is the meaning of the mother-child art therapy according to that experience. In this study, a five-year-old boy with difficulties in attachment formation and emotional aspects and a mother with a job were selected as participants. The mother-child art therapy was conducted from June 11, 2022, to August 6, 2022 and was conducted over ten sessions. As a result, the mother-child experiences were derived into 3 upper categories; , , , 6 subcategories, and 15 semantic units. The significance of this study is that mother-child art therapy helped working mother and child to experience the joy of interacting in mutually satisfying ways and to form healthy relationships. Furthermore, as they maintain a stable and enjoyable relationship, it is meaningful that it has shown a possibility of positive effects on their future adaptability in life and child's healthy growth and development.
